Research Area: Dr. Gijs A. Kleter is with RIKILT - Institute of Food Safety, which is located in Wageningen, The Netherlands. RIKILT specializes in food safety, for example by scientific research on the safety and detection of genetically modified foods and animal feed. Dr. Kleter is member of a team that advises regulatory authorities on the safety of genetically modified foods and animal feed and that contributes to international consensus and discussions on regulatory safety assessments. He also leads the IUPAC project "Impact of transgenic crop cultivation on the use of agrochemicals and the environment". In addition, Dr. Kleter and his colleagues have authored publications on issues such as regulations and safety of genetically modified crops and -animals.
